The answer is yes......and a big, big no. After spending every second (except speaking events and vacations) of my tender 48 years in St. Louis, it's time to pack up the family and move to the country. But the radio show is going ABSOLUTELY nowhere. Even though Kerry, Pelosi, Kennedy, Reid, Michael Moore and the entire left wishes I would leave, uh-uh, no-way, we're coming at'em stronger than ever. But some background on the move....
Starting in September, we're relocating to Memphis, Missouri (pop. 2500). No, Elvis will not be in the building. I've decided I want to concentrate on the 4 things that power my life.....God, family, service through personalized medical care, and my communications endeavor, Randy Tobler Enterprises. Earlier this spring, a retired friend familiar with the hospital I'll be at phoned out of the clear blue. He was familiar with the quality of the clinicians at Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis and asked me to investigate setting up shop there. I said, "George, your crazy, I'm not ready for a move." As you know, over the last few years we have become immersed in country living at Salt River Ranch. I had planned on retiring there 10-15 years up the road. But enexpectedly this opportunity ot bring specialized women's healthcare to a currently underserved area sought me. The clinicians are great. The philosophy is inside out healing, and the administration and community value this little critical access hospital with a brand new Women's Center The nearest Wal-Mart is over 30 miles away, so the town square bustles with vigor and old-fashioned community. So it was. And as often happens when you least expect it, God opens doors, the stars align and the call is clear. Before we decided to turn our lives upside down, though, The Randy Tobler Show, my local Vital Signs offering, and other communications projects had to be preserved. I'm pleased to announce that through the wonders of technology, the show will continue to be broadcast over the Matrix Media and Radio America Networks via the awesome facilities of KFTK, 97.1 FM Talk in St. Louis. Whether I'm at the Ranch, or in St. Louis, maybe even on the primary trail when the '08 election season warms up, I've made this move in part to shed the distractions of city living to focus on you with an ever better program. Better guests, better features but always with a foundation of the conversation you and I share on the phone lines. If you've noticed a little less fresh content on the site, it's because of the chaos in moving....so what were we thinking anyway?! For anyone who's made the BIG move, you know what I mean. Trust that things will return to normal once we're settled next month. In the meantime, keep on listening, calling and writing. With the world in turmoil and sensibilities being rocked with every newsday, count on Kelly, Eric, Kevin and the entire production staff to help us figure it all out. After all, someone has to think for America when the politicians are so distracted with their pwer grubbing antics, right? Be well, Randy . |
